Franco Molteni

Dr. Franco Molteni serves as Scientific Director at the Villa Beretta Rehabilitation Research Innovation Institute and Clinical Director of its Rehabilitation Center. He graduated from the Università Statale di Milano in 1981 and completed his specialization in Physical Medicine and
Rehabilitation in 1984.
Over the course of his distinguished 40-year career, Dr. Molteni has concentrated on pioneering rehabilitative methodologies, particularly in the areas of instrumental movement analysis and multimodal rehabilitation treatments that incorporate advanced technologies such as robotics, Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS), and Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES). These innovative treatments
are further enhanced by pharmacological interventions, including the use of botulinum toxin and intrathecal baclofen, as well as surgical procedures aimed at neuromodulation and the promotion of neuroplasticity.
Dr. Molteni has engaged in collaborative research with esteemed national and international institutions, including Politecnico di Milano, Istituto Neurologico Carlo Besta in Milan, and the Jefferson Moss-Magee Rehabilitation Hospital in Philadelphia, USA. His scientific contributions extend beyond clinical practice; he is an active member of various international medical societies, an associate researcher, and serves on multiple scientific advisory boards.
