On Wednesday afternoon, June 25, we offer registered delegates the opportunity to visit the following 2 institutes.
Villa Beretta Rehabilitation Research Innovation Institute (VBRRII) is a specialized research and innovation center focused on Rehabilitation Medicine, closely collaborating with Villa Beretta Rehabilitation Center in Costa Masnaga, Italy, under the leadership of Dr. Franco Molteni. Its primary mission is to recover and enhance human functioning, particularly after disabilities resulting from central nervous system injuries, through clinical and research activities that employ an innovative interdisciplinary and bio-tech approach. This approach is rooted in Network and Systems Medicine, integrating various fields such as medicine, biology, neuropsychology, and bioengineering. The institute utilizes advanced biotechnological methods, including robotics, virtual and augmented reality, and Artificial Intelligence, to promote neuroplasticity, which is the nervous system’s ability to adapt and improve its structure and function.
The “Eugenio Medea” Institute is a Scientific Institute for Research, Hospitalization and Health Care.
It was officially recognized in 1985 and it specializes in neurological and neuropsychological diseases of the developmental age, focusing on research, treatment and training.
It is the research section of Associazione La Nostra Famiglia, a non-profit organization founded in 1946 which is dedicated to the care and rehabilitation of people with disabilities, in particular children and young adults.
Institute Medea aims at creating synergies between scientific research and hospitalization and care in order to promote the dignity and the quality of life of our young patients and their families. This goal can be achieved through very specific and specialized rehabilitation interventions for people with disabilities, especially in developmental age.
Registered participants will be transported by minibus in groups of 15 people to the hospitals for a tour. There are no additional costs. Participation is limited to 2 groups of 15 people. In the registration form you can indicate whether you would like to join. First come, first serve.
Join the informal conference dinner that will be organized at the end of the first conference day. The conference dinner can be booked as an extra option.
Several Jeeps take us to The Rifugio Tavecchia, a charming mountain refuge nestled in the picturesque Val Biandino, near Introbio in the Valsassina region of Lecco, Italy. Surrounded by stunning alpine scenery, the refuge offers authentic local cuisine, emphasizing traditional flavors and quality ingredients, served in a rustic yet welcoming dining area. Accessible via a scenic path, it provides a serene and inspiring setting to enjoy nature, good food and good company.
In northern Italy, at the tip of the eastern branch of Lake Como, lies Lecco, a treasure surrounded by mountains that create an exceptional panorama of the Prealpi Orobie. The mountains around Lecco are pure and snow-covered in winter, sunny and vibrant in autumn, and fresh and minty-green in spring and summer, thanks to the area’s abundant and lush vegetation.
But Lecco is not only known for its landscapes that inspired The Betrothed by Alessandro Manzoni; it is also a center for research and innovation that drives competitive development, thanks to the presence of the Politecnico di Milano campus.
The Lecco Campus of Politecnico di Milano spans 47,000 m² and is dedicated to education, research, and student services. Internationalization is indeed one of the main strengths of the Lecco Campus. Master’s programs taught in English, introduced in 2006, have fostered the growth of a large international community of students from around the world. Foreign students make up approximately 28% of the campus’s student body, which has over 1,800 enrolled students.
In just a few years, the Lecco Campus has become a key reference point for the University, hosting scientific events and academic activities in collaboration with international academic partners.
