Student Exchange Programme
The XR4REHAB Collaboration & Innovation Network is keen to facilitate student exchange between partners of the consortium. The exchange programme for students from different research labs, academic departments or SMEs will allow peers from partner institutions to exchange places for a period of time. The aim of the programme is to develop students’ research skills, broaden their experience, provide diverse academic perspectives, and foster collaboration and develop strong partnerships across the XR4Rehab Network.

Structure of the Programme
Partnership Between Universities or Research Labs:
- Universities or research labs partner with institutions that have complementary or similar research strengths. This ensures students gain valuable insights while contributing to research projects at the host lab.
Eligibility and Application:
- Graduate students (master’s or PhD candidates) working on research-intensive projects can apply.
- Applicants submit either a research proposal, statement of interest or letters of recommendation, and indicate the host lab of their choice.
Duration:
- The program typically lasts from a few weeks to a full semester.
- During this period, students fully immerse themselves in the host lab’s research activities.
Research Focus:
- Students work on ongoing research projects at the host institution, contributing to experiments, data collection, analysis, and publication efforts.
- Alternatively, students may bring their own projects and collaborate with the host lab to expand or refine their work.
Cross-Cultural and Interdisciplinary Learning:
- Students are exposed to different research methodologies, technologies, and academic environments.
- They collaborate with peers and mentors from various cultural and academic backgrounds, enhancing their ability to work in interdisciplinary and international research teams.
Mentorship and Supervision:
- Each student is assigned a faculty advisor or research mentor in the host lab to guide their research activities, ensure academic rigor, and help navigate the local academic system.
Assessment and Outcomes:
- Students are required to submit research reports, publish papers, or present findings at conferences.
- Some programs may have a final symposium where exchange students showcase their research experiences and results.
- Successful participation often leads to research collaboration between institutions and potential future academic or professional opportunities.
Funding:
- Students may avail of Erasmus funding where partner institution are members of the scheme.
Benefits
Benefits:
