You can submit your abstract or long paper until the deadline of 22 February 2026 (23.59 CET). Deadline will not be extended!

You can choose to submit an Abstract (Research or Innovation Track) with a maximum word count of 300 words or a Long Paper with 5-8 pages in length.

We are open to many themes and submission types, so we encourage authors to submit to our Research Track or our Innovation Track. All abstracts will be submitted using the Oxford abstracts portal, which requires the submitting author to create a user ID.

Submission Guidelines

Please use the headings provided. To help you structure your submission separate guidelines are provided for the research and innovation headings.

You can download abstract instructions here.

Publication

All submissions will be included in a WCVR 2026 Proceedings document, available to registered attendees during the conference.

Additionally, you can choose to either:

publish your 300 word abstract in the Journal of Medical Extended Reality. There will be a cost to you of €50 for this (to allow the abstract to be open access). The cost will be collected as an add-on at registration.

OR

publish your long paper of 5-8 pages in the Springer Meteorite conference book. Because this publication will not be open access there will not be a cost to you.

Because of copyright you cannot publish using both of these two options.

Each long paper submitted will be assigned a DOI number, for abstracts, there is a general DOI for the entire supplement.

Orals and Posters:

Potential presenters will be accepted based on a peer-review of the submitted abstract/long paper. You will have the option to submit your paper to be considered for a poster or oral presentation, although we cannot guarantee that you will be assigned as indicated.
