Hans Vlake

After my bachelor’s degree, I came into contact with Michel van Genderen, who was setting up research into VR in the IC. I was accepted to the IC for my master’s research. We have started investigating whether it is safe to use a newly developed Intensive Care specific VR film as an intervention. There is a chance of getting cybersickness, which can make you nauseous and dizzy. It has been established that the VR intervention is safe, with only minimal nausea that disappeared during the intervention. With a subsidy application from BeterKeten, the VR intervention could be further developed and researched in a PhD trajectory, for which I was hired as a PhD candidate.
